A time when first friendships develop, and sense of self strengthens. Parallel play turns to social play and a whole new world opens up for little ones, as they learn, not just from the ideas they conjure; but from those born of the imaginations of others.
As your Toddler starts to step ever-so-lightly towards school readiness, their thirst for answers to their questions intensifies. The endless seeking of knowledge and information is the perfect time to gently introduce a more structured learning environment, without stepping away from our ethos of child-led learning opportunities.
Through our carefully constructed internal and external environments, we create catalysts of wonderment and excitement. Fostering a passion for learning and introducing early numeracy and literacy in a gentle and measured manner. Social and emotional intelligence takes leaps and bounds at this age, so activities focused around group interaction and participation are encouraged, whilst respecting personality and individuality.
Awareness of toileting and development of taste preferences and palate are also key milestones at this age, so we work with you on developing these important areas. Building relationships and ensuring happy and healthy body, mind and soul is at the heart of our Toddler Room, for this is where Tall Trees grow
Nothing stops a child in their tracks like nature. Simple discoveries that spark intrigue and curiosity. Few things delight as much as the opportunity to see the world through your little one’s eyes and expressive play in nature provides a wonderful canvas.
We create opportunities for children to take measured risks, appropriate to the environment and their development, enabling them to build their confidence and physical abilities. Children are given the opportunity to learn at their own pace, and are encouraged to become curious learners.
Our beautiful learning environments allow for exploration and provide children with the knowledge and tools to learn how to look after themselves, each other and the natural environment, while rest areas provide a quiet place to gather thoughts and reflect upon learning.
Our truly unique Nature School program offers children an abundance of room to learn and grow. We work with the children to develop learning activities which support their own individual interests and observations, incorporating the Early Years Learning Framework, while forming caring relationships and bonds.
Life skills are practiced and developed with the aim of building confidence and resilience in children – enabling them space to make their own decisions, even mistakes, to enable life learning.
Through managed risk and exposure to key life skills, your children will be emboldened to take on life with self-confidence. Life skills can include things such as handwashing, spreading or cutting their own toast, measured risk taking such as jumping from one item to the next, climbing, or using items such as scissors. We want little ones to leave us feeling empowered as people and as capable learners. Because they are, each and every one of them.
