CTAS Education is a privately owned WA based Registered Training Organisation (RTO), who is the pre-eminent provider of Nationally Recognised Qualifications for the Education and Care Sector via workplace-based training (traineeships).
For this award, each trainer nominates a student and then they get short listed. The committee then discuss the shortlisted students’ progress and commitment throughout the year to finalise a winner.
Savannah’s trainer, Tong comments “What really stands out, is how much Savannah has accomplished in such a short period of time, especially given the limited hours she spends in the service as a school–based trainee. Savannah’s motivation and positive attitude to succeed are clear indicators of her potential as an aspiring educator.”
A school-based traineeship in Early Childhood Education and Care allows students to gain a Certificate III qualification, whilst working in the sector as a paid employee, all while still attending secondary school.
Regular and meaningful workplace-based training allows the opportunity to develop and gain industry skills and knowledge. It is this aspect that distinguishes a school-based traineeship from conventional institution-based training.
This opportunity provides a great head start on careers, with the ability to gain a qualification and possibility to continue employment once graduating from secondary education (dependent on the employer).
Kirsty Chambers, Centre Manager at Tall Tree Subiaco comments “We are so proud of Savannah for winning the CTAS most dedicated school-based trainee award. This achievement is a testament to her commitment, passion and professionalism. Savannah consistently models our TEAM values. Keep shining and inspiring others Savannah!”
