Your Role

About the Role

As our Food Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for preparing fresh, age-appropriate meals that cater to the nutritional needs of children aged 0-5. You’ll play a key role in creating a positive food culture by preparing a variety of healthy options, accommodating dietary requirements,and making mealtimes enjoyable for our little ones.

  • Assist with Play-Based Learning Activities: Engage children in hands-on, age-appropriate activities that encourage curiosity and discovery.
  • Support a Safe and Nurturing Environment: Help ensure children feel valued, secure, and supported at all times.
  • Learn from Experienced Educators: Work alongside qualified team members to learn best practices in early childhood education.
  • Participate in Planning and Implementing Programs: Gain insight into planning activities in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
  • Develop Professionalism: Approach each day with warmth, patience, and a positive attitude to create a friendly environment for all.

Your Qualifications

A Food Coordinator in an Early Learning Centre (ELC) plays a crucial role in ensuring that children receive nutritious, balanced meals in a safe and hygienic environment. This position requires a combination of food preparation skills, knowledge of dietary requirements, and an understanding of early childhood nutrition.

  • Experience in food preparation, preferably in a childcare, school, or aged care setting.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences.
  • Required to ensure compliance with food handling and hygiene regulations.
Remuneration & Benefits

Earn between $30-$32., based on your experience and qualifications. Plus, eligible educators may have access to the Worker Retention Grant, designed to support long-term commitment and professional development in the early childhood education sector.
